Process

A. Heat load calculation using carrier HAP software.

1. Inputs required from the client :
a. Building orientation.
b. Architectural drawings with elevations.
c. Window and door schedule with sizes
d. U values of wall, roof, window, door, floor, skylight.
e. Room occupancy.
f. Heat generated by equipment in rooms like kitchen, LV, HV, battery etc.
g. Overall temperature to be maintained.
h. Ambient temperature to be considered in calculation.
2. Referring ASHRAE standards if above data are not mentioned except point a.
3. Loading of space data into HAP which include general, internal, wall, window, door, roof, skylight, infiltration, floor and partition information.
4. Creating a system in HAP which includes general, system component, zone component, sizing data input.
5. System simulation.
6. Report generation.
7. Cross checking the output with ASHRAE cooling load check figures.
8. Report submission with all the references attached for approval.

B. HVAC shop drawings.

1. Inputs required from the client are;
a. Architectural drawings with furniture layout.
b. Structural drawings.
c. False ceiling drawings.
d. Equipment schedule (AHU, FCU, Split, Extract, Fresh air etc.)
e. NPSH of chilled water pumps.
f. MEP shaft identification.
g. Air flow velocity to be maintained.
h. Drawing template to be followed.
i ctb to be used.
2. Referring to DW144 and SMACNA standards for duct sizing and connections.
3..Referring to ASHRAE standards for pipe sizing.
4. Discussion on drawing with the client, before submitting it for approval.

C. ESP calculation.

1. Inputs required from the client are;
a. HVAC shop drawing (approved if possible) in .dwg format.
b. VCD, FD, Diffuser, STL make and catalogue pages for pressure drop if the vendor representative is not available locally.
c. Hood, STL, motorized damper etc make and catalogue pages for pressure drop if the vendor representative is not available locally.
2. Longest path shall be identified and submitted to the client for acceptance.
3. A numbered drawing is prepared and all the data is loaded in the excel.
4. Referring to ASHRAE 2009 standards to calculate the duct friction losses from equipment mouth to supply air outlet and from return air outlet to return air connection of the equipment.
5. Report submission with all the references attached for approval.

D. Pump head calculation

1. Inputs required from the client are;
a. HVAC shop drawing (approved if possible) in .dwg format.
c. Valve make and catalogue pages for pressure drop if the vendor representative is not available locally.
2. Longest path shall be identified and submitted to the client for acceptance.
3. A numbered drawing is prepared and all the data is loaded in the excel.
4. Referring to ASHRAE standards (friction loss chart) to calculate the duct friction losses.
5. If catalog pressure drop is not available then the carrier handbook with valves and fitting general values shall be referred.
6. Report submission with all the references attached for approval.
